About this location
A compact bird sanctuary in the Ernakulam district, Thattekad is considered the richest bird habitat in peninsular India. Over 300 species in a small area of riverine and evergreen forest — exceptional for forest birding photography, especially the ultra-rare Sri Lanka frogmouth.
