The Chiru or Tibetan Antelope is found in India only in the remote Changthang plateau of Ladakh — making any sighting exceptionally special. Males bear long, straight horns and migrate in large herds to traditional calving grounds. The species was nearly poached to extinction for its shahtoosh wool. See Tibetan Antelope (Chiru) in Ladakh's remote Changthang plateau. One of India's rarest mammal sightings — expedition guide.
