(c) Dhyey Shah, some rights reserved (CC BY-NC), uploaded by Dhyey Shah

About this species

The Desert Cat or Asian Wildcat inhabits the arid zones of Rajasthan and Kutch — sand dunes, dry scrub, and rocky desert terrain. Its pale sandy coat is perfect camouflage in its harsh environment. Night drives in Desert National Park near Jaisalmer and the fringes of the Rann of Kutch offer the best sighting opportunities. Spot Desert Cats on Rajasthan's night safaris. Asia's wildcat ancestor — nocturnal wildlife guide and best desert reserve locations.
