About this location
Nagarhole's moist forests and the Kabini reservoir backwaters create extraordinary wildlife photography conditions. The dry-season Kabini riverbank, where elephants, gaur, leopards, and wild dogs all gather, is one of India's most reliably spectacular wildlife viewing points.

Safari Zones
Nagarhole's safaris start from three points on different sides of the park. The Kabini side (Damanakatte in the Kakanakote range) is the most famous, known for elephants on the Kabini backwaters and big-cat sightings. Veeranahosahalli is the most convenient from Mysuru and Bengaluru, and Nanachi on the Kodagu side is quieter. Safaris are booked through the Karnataka forest department or Jungle Lodges.
