About this location
A high-altitude wildlife sanctuary in the Spiti valley protecting alpine steppe and cold desert habitats. Home to snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, and spectacular Himalayan ibex herds on rocky cliff faces above the Kibber village — one of the highest inhabited villages in the world.

By Road
Kibber is 18 km above Kaza. Reach Kaza via Shimla–Kinnaur (open most of the year) or via Manali and Kunzum Pass (summer only). Winter snow leopard trips are run from Kibber with local spotters.
