About this location
A national park in the Jalpaiguri district protecting the Dooars floodplains at the base of Bhutan's hills. Home to one-horned rhinos and large elephant herds in open riverside grasslands, with excellent photography from elephant-back or jeep safaris along the Murti river.

Safari Zones
Gorumara safaris are organised around watchtowers rather than zones. Each jeep safari goes to one tower overlooking a grassland or salt lick, and tickets are issued at Lataguri. Jatraprasad is the classic rhino-viewing tower; Chandrachur (Khunia) overlooks a big grassland; Medla faces the Murti river; and Chukchuki is a favourite birding point.
