About this location
Every winter, thousands of flamingos gather on the mudflats off Sewri, in full view of Mumbai's skyline, port cranes, and oil refineries — one of the most improbable wildlife spectacles in urban India. No boat or jeep is needed: a short trip to the Sewri jetty at low tide, with binoculars or a scope, is enough to see pink flocks feeding within sight of the city's daily commute.
