About this location
One of the largest natural swamps in the Ganga-Ghaghra plains, Bakhira is a low-lying wetland in eastern Uttar Pradesh that holds substantial numbers of wintering waterfowl in a part of the state that sees relatively few dedicated wildlife visitors.
